Survivor: Gabon -- "This Camp is Cursed" (Ep 4)

Holy cow I am way behind! Life moves too fast, doesn't it? Let's get to it.

Adios muchacho! The game has no room for losers like GC. I was seriously hoping that he wouldn't show up for the immuntiy challenge for a number of reasons. First of all, it would have been hilarious if he was at least chased down by a monkey, but also, I would have just liked to see The Jeff rip into him for being such a lame-o. Jeff has not hidden his complete lack of respect for the Fang tribe--and I agree with him. They're awful.

The elephant sighting was one of the more majestic moments thay've had in the 16 previous seasons of the show. It's not often that the players get to take part in the nature of their surroundings, instead of struggling with just the harshness of the environment and battling it out with each other.

The complete disaster that is fang is holding the editors back from showing us anything that is happening at Kota. I guess their storyline will be coming later on in the season.

A quick breakdown:
Fang
1. Matty: Best guy on fang by a landslide. His enthusiasm for Gabon is endearing. I hope he sticks around for the long hull.
2. Crystal: Her reaction to GC was fantastic. I'd never fight with her.
3. Sugar: Drop Ace now! And she'd better use the idol before it does her in.
4. Kelly: Well, at least we know she can put together full sentences now.
5. Ace: His dumb fake accent is annoying, and wow--what a wuss.
6. Kenny: I hate his stupid face.

Kota
1. Randy: His commentary is priceless. Bravo to the casting department for giving us this guy.
2. Corinne: We'll have to wait and see how losing Jacquie affects her game.
3. Marcus: Captain America saves the day...again. Throwing two pieces of fruit at once won them the challenge. This is one smart dude...
4. Dan: He'd better watch his back. All this "axis of evil" stuff isn't coming across well.
5. Bob: Where is he?
6. Charlie: Not much to say... But why did Marcus bite him on the shoulder?
7. Susie: uh...hello?

Who's going home next? What do you think of this season of survivor? Survivor: Gabon airs at 8:00PM eastern on CBS Thursdays.

Chuck vs. The Break-Up (Ep 3)

Sorry for how late this is... I've been slackin' a bit. New episode tonight so I'll make this one short.

Poor Chuck. Bryce Larkin is back to make his life miserable, and get all makie-outie with Sarah. Bryce quickly finds out, though, that Sarah isn't all OMG BRYCE YOU'RE BACK! She's more like, "Chuck and I are completely professional." NOT. Bryce sees right through it and warn's Chuck about how he is responsible for Sarah's recent lapses in judgement--the most recent mistake landing her in the hospital.

Chuck and Sarah sit in the courtyard near the fountain and have a heart-to-heart. Seriously--HOW do Ellie and Awesome afford that place they live, and is it a house or an apartment? I can't figure it out. Anyways, Chuck gives the usual "I know we can never be together my life is miserable" speech, and Sarah cries. This is bull. We KNOW they'll end up together in the end.

I honestly prefer when the show does NOT focus on the relationship stuff. It's supposed to be a comedy, and I know they're giving the characters a few more dimensions to make them likeable, but this was seriously like the whole episode. I can't even remember what the sub-plots were.

Tonight we get Nicole Richie guess starring as Sarah's nemesis, which should be interesting. Maybe she's channeling all that recent hatred for Paris Hilton and turning herself into an evil character. Should be fun!

What do you think of this season so far? Chuck airs Monday nights at 8:00PM on NBC.

Heroes: "Angels and Monsters" (Ep 5)

*sigh*

Well, lets start with what we already knew:
-Something is up with Mohinder's mood swings
-Linderman isn't actually there in physical presence
-Tracy was one of three triplets--Niki (dead) and Barbara (we're yet to meet).
-Peter sucks
-Ando kills Hiro in the future

What we learned this episode:
-Mohinder is now Spiderman with a serious case of PMS. Well, more of a combination of Spiderman and those giant spiders from Eight-legged Freaks. Horrible movie.
-Papa Patrelli is not a good guy
-Linderman is actually an image being projected into the minds of Daphne, Nathan, and others by Matt Parkman's father.
-Peter sucks EVEN WORSE than we thought.
-Some of the heroes were born normal, but injected with powers. Nathan, Niki, Tracy, and some others.

Items of discussion:
-Why are Tracy's powers manifesting just now? Why not earlier? Does it have anything to do with Niki's death?
-We have never ONCE seen Angela Patrelli nervous or afraid. But man oh man, she was freaking out this time. That's not a good sign. And her dream? Disgusting.
-THE PUPPET MAN. :-O This man is the most terrifying thing they've ever had on the show. Holy crap, he gives me the hibblyjibblies. I hate puppets.
-There's no way that Ando is actually dead. But he definitely has a reason to kill Future-Hiro now. Seriously. Hiro, you are an idiot.
-Yay! Mohinder has (at least temporarily) sidelined Maya!!! All is right in Heroesville, lol.

Sorry for the weak blog for this episode. I'm a little behind, and playing catch-up.

I really do enjoy this show, but it does make me pretty angry. I don't like the direction that most of the characters are moving in, and they consistently make stupid/irrational decisions. It's like a soap opera.

What did you think of the episode? What are your predictions for the whole Papa Patrelli thing? What do you make of the 2 sides that are clearly forming? Heroes airs Monday nights @ 9:00PM on NBC.

The Office: "Business Ethics" (Ep 2)

Holly Flax (Amy Ryan) is the new Pam, so move over Beesley! I'm not sure whether the writers meant for that to happen, but EVERYONE loves Amy Ryan, and for good reasons. Pam wasn't even present in the episode, only her voice on the phone in the openner. It's interesting to see the progression these characters go through, and it's exciting to have Holly being the featured woman this season.

One thing was made very, very obvious in regards to Holly. She is indeed a complete dork, but she is NOT stupid. Michael is a dork and, lets face it, is pretty dumb. Many of the viewers have compared the two of them and argued that Holly is the female Michael. I don't see that at all anymore. It was very apparent that regardless of what people thought, Holly has a commitment to morality and takes her job seriously.

On to the episode...

Jim announces that he and Pam are engaged. No one is surprised or happy other than Michael. He may be dumb, but we all love him. His view that the office is a "family" really endears him. It may be a really naive way to think of the work place, but Michael does have a genuine love for everyone in the office, in various ways (especially now that Toby is gone).

We are then treated to a more than uncomfortable rendition of Olivia Newton John's "Lets get physical" performed by Holly and Michael. They were really creative and changed "physical" to "ethical." Lol, the awkwardness alone of them dancing around with sweatbands on their heads was enough to get me laughing. The meeting, however didn't go quite as well as planned. Holly was instructed to read from the binder...which of course is really boring. When Michael intervenes to spice it up, things get out of hand. And of course, everyone has "immunity" for whatever they say. Uh, no, Michael. No.

Kelly confesses that she downloads pirated music onto her work computer, Angela admits to reporting Oscar to INS (and she's NOT sorry), and most shocking of all...Meredith. Oh Meredith. This woman is the QUEEN of everything inappropriate and awful, but we love her, right? Well, for six years, she's been exchanging sex with the office supplies dude for discounts for the office...and Outback Steakhouse gift certificates. WHAT??????????????????

Holly, of course, throws a fit. And she should, because this is a HUGE deal. No one else seems to care, though, and Michael disagrees with Holly about the gravity of the situation. This leads to the most uncomfortable moment of the episode. Holly makes a call to the Human Resources Director at corporate--Kendall. And we all know how David Wallace (DM CFO) feels about Kendall. Well, we all know why. He berates Holly for making a big deal out of nothing, and poor Holly is left to be a minority with her ideals. :( WE LOVE YOU HOLLY!

The best part of the episode was the side story involving Jim and Dwight. FINALLY--another prank! I've missed seeing these two interact in a more jovial way. Dwight states that he NEVER steals company time, which inspires Jim to carry around a stopwatch to time all of the time that Dwight wastes arguing with various people in the office. Just to tempt him, he talks with Andy about Battlestar Galactica (getting it confused with Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and every other nerd-fest sci-fi show or move). Fantastic. And Dwight is obviously pained, but won't quit working to argue. He even takes it as far as peeing in a bottle under his desk! Woah, dude, keep the bottle in a drawer or something. However, the company time argument doesn't keep him from a 20 minute tryst with Angela...who really needs to just dump Andy already. Poor Andy.

Anyways, enough summary. Let's get to the good stuff-- QUOTES! =D

Ryan: Ok, elephant in the room. Let's talk about it. Do I regret what I did? Of course I do. Even though it was an amazing ride, and I'll give you an example. Anyone see Survivor season six? Anyone know Joanna on that show? In New York City, I hooked up with a girl who looked exactly like that. Indistinguishable. So...
Michael: Ok. Well done. Good speech Ryan, you're a good guy.

Ok, Joanna is NOT that attractive. This was totally random and had me ROLLING.

Kelly: Why is ok for smokers to take breaks all the time? If I want to go outside and hang out once an hour, then I'll just take up smoking. I'll do it. I don't care.
Meredith: I'll smoke with you. I got a bag of cigars in my purse.

Michael: You need to be Robin Williams and M. Night Shyamalan. You need to be Robin Shyamalan.

Michael: You are a thief of joy. [in reference to Dwight]

Angela: I once reported Oscar to the INS. Turns out he's clean, but I'm glad I did it.

Meredith: Exchange of steak. Have you ever had sirloin steak, honey?

Meredith: There's not a lot of fruit in those looms.
Micheal: Ughh! For the love of God we're trying to help you... stupid bag.

Michael: Istn't it? Yeah, it's kind of... business/romantic. So you're from Des Moines?
Holly: Mmm.
Michael: Wow, that sounds so... warm.

Jim: Story's kinda bland. It's about this guy named Dumbledore Calrissian who needs to return the ring back to Mordor.
Andy: Really? That doesn't sound right. [About Battlestar Galactica]

*sigh* good stuff.

What are your thoughts on the episode? What do you think will happen next? The Office airs on Thursdays at 9:00pm on NBC.

The Amazing Race: "Did you push my sports bra off the ledge?" (Ep 3)

Lots of stuff going on this episode. Let’s get to it.

Before the race even starts for the day, the Divorcees are already bringing out their claws. I’m beginning to understand why they’re divorced… wowzers. One of them apparently thinks that Starr pushed her sports bra off a ledge at the hotel where they were staying the night. OH NOES. SHE DIDN’T. That has such a HUGE effect on the outcome of the race! NO WAY. Like OMG guys, O. M. G. *Passes out from shock.* As my friend so adequately put it, WHY was her underwear out on the ledge for any nudging at all? Keep it on the body or in the closet please ladies. And really—if that’s the criteria for making enemies…I’d have billions. BILLIONS.

Anyways, the teams are off to La Paz, Bolivia! Huzzah for high altitudes with no air! They are forced to stay overnight at the Simon Bolivar statue and wait for a clue that will appear in the newspaper the next morning. The blondes (who are really the comic highlight of the season) aren’t thrilled about the hard ground, but at least they’re “sleeping next to Simon Bo-LEE-VARRRR.” ROFL. They’re so oblivious it’s almost endearing.

At this point, Nick wants to repair this tiff between them and the Divorcees about the bra thing. They’re like “WHATEVER. This is a HUGE deal! Like, I can’t believe that she did that! We hate you, and we don’t forgive you. Because her pushing my bra off the ledge is going to make us lose.” Please. Stop. Talking.

They find the ad in the paper for a hat sale, where they must go and buy a hat to be used later on in the episode. They receive their next clue at that hat shop, and it instructs them to WALK ON FOOT to the Detour. Not all teams read so great… DUN Dun dun… The nerds and Terence/Sarah hop in a taxi and head off. But wait. WAIT! Sarah reads the clue again and is all “WE HAVE TO GO BACK! WE HAVE TO GO BACK!!!” She seriously needs to shut up, I can’t take it. I was so sad she realized it. Unfortunately for the nerds, they noticed much later on in the race.

U-Turn drama at the Detour. Teams can either ride strange wooden bikes down a huge hill or walk through town collecting marching band members along the way. Most teams opt for the biking, which turns out to be sort of bumpy and complicated. On the bikes, the Divorcees are all like “OMG girl, we’ve GOT to U-turn Nick and Starr! They are so not our BFFs. She messed with my bra!” What-flippin’-ever chica. Get over it. Starr and Nick of course pass them going down the hill, which was totally satisfying.

On their way down, they pass team Boresville (aka Aja and Ty), who has the personality of a turtle watching paint dry. There’s like nothing there people. Anyways, Starr is like “please guys, we don’t want to be the mean ones. U-turn the divorcees, please.” And Aja of course says nothing because she’s almost incapable of speech. In one anti-climactic moment, the U-turn went unused.

Down with the marching bands, the frat boys are stressing out because they’re too high-strung about how slow their band is moving. I LOVED it when the blondes passed them and were dancing and waving about, completely clueless to the fact that it was a race, but still moving faster than the frats. Fantastic.

Now comes the hilariously good part. Not only were they dressed up as wrestlers a la Nacho Libre, but they were fighting short little Bolivian women in skirts. This is priceless. Ken and Tina arrive first and finish quickly, and their off to the pitstop. The Nerds and Blondes arrive early, but struggle with the routine. As the other teams begin to arrive, the same scene plays out each time, but it’s just as hilarious with every flip and kick. I’m TOTALLY moving to Bolivia, lol.

While sitting and waiting, Aja discovers her ability to speak and mentions to Divorcee #1 that Starr asked her to U-turn them. Oh Aja, you finally speak, and I now I hate you. LEAVE BRO/SIS ALONE. GOSH.

Of course the Divorcees are last, and they’re super angry with Nick and Starr because of the whole bra and almost-U-turn situation. Seriously girls, I hope you have bigger problems in your lives. “OMG girl, I’m totally going to confront her. If we leave, I’m gunna cuss her out at the finish…blah blah blah.” I cannot stand these women.

But wait. OH NOES. The Nerds have incurred a 30 minute penalty for taking the taxi when they were supposed to walk. Therefore they are eliminated from the race, and the bra-obsessors stick around. Ugh. Had the Nerds finished the Road Block in better time, they would still be in the race without a doubt. It’s really too bad, but that’s what carelessness gets you in the Amazing Race.

I’m still rooting for Nick/Starr and Toni/Dallas. The Blondes have made it into my top three just for entertainment value and comedy. Them as a final three would be great!

What did you think of the whole bra situation? Who are you rooting for? The Amazing Race airs on CBS Sunday nights at 8:00 pm eastern time.

Survivor: Gabon--"It was like Christmas morning!" (Ep 4)

Ken and GC suck. It's not that Jacquieieie added much to the game, it's more so that I can't stand to look at their faces anymore. I mean, it was definitely a good move for Ken to pick Kelly as he knew that she was unpopular and would probably jump to his side, but seriously. I hate Ken. Poor Ken, he's my object of completely irrational hatred this season. Last season was Jason Siska, but I'm sorry--that's completely justified.

Anyway, ON TO THE DRAMA. The tribal rankings were very interesting. I really wish we'd seen more of it. It would have been very interesting to see how the players reacted when their status was revealed. I really wish we'd seen it. Bob is going to come back and bite them in the butt. Ranked THIRD on Kota and picked almost last? Hm...that's not going to make him happy.

Jacquieie could have done a lot more to save herself. Turning on the waterworks only does so much, and it's certainly not going to be enough to change the minds of Ken and GC, who have literally no soul. She could have argued that Sugar could potentially have the idol, and that she was super tight with Ace--which she didn't do. She could have offered a spot or 2 in the Onion Alliance, which she didn't do. So meh, she wasn't going to win anyways.

1. Corinne: This girl is OWNING.
2. Randy: Great challenge performance, awesome commentary. Best casting job in a while.
3. Dan: Genuinely nice guy, but totally naive about this game. It should be interesting to see how he connects with his new tribe.
4. Marcus: Captain America at it again. He and Randy made a great team.
5. Bob: Looks like Bill Nye is underrated. I think that'll work for him.
6. Matty: Best of the Fang tribe now by far. He could be in trouble though, because his alliance is all on the other side.
7. Charlie: Supposedly a Survivor fan, but his only storyline is his crush on Marcus. GET IN THE GAME.
8. Sugar: She's cute and fun, but probably not long for the game. I can see her wasting the idol.
9. Susie: Hard worker, low key. She's going deep, lol.
10. Crystal: She was more fun early on, but then she alligned herself with those 2 pathetic excuses for human beings.
11. Kelly: She's a whiner, but I just find her humorous. It's like she thinks she deserves to be treated well by others. Pfft...
12. Ace: FAKE ACCENT. I HATE IT.
13. GC: He's just really immature. He would get along with Mookie from the Fiji season. I hated that season.
14. Ken: I can't even stand the sight of this dude. His adams apple in HD is going to give me nightmares, and when he talks, he sounds like one of those creepy kids from a horror movie. *Shudders* I just want him gone...now.

What did you think of this latest episode? Did Fang make the right move booting Jacqueieie over Kelly? Survivor: Gabon airs Thursday nights at 8:00pm on CBS.
